Women’s rugby is hosting some sevens exhibition games today against Charlottetown Rural at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.

Women’s softball hosts Bluefield at 5:00 p.m. at Queen Elizabeth Field.

Men and women’s flag football are at the Cornwall turf tonight at 5:20 p.m. vs Bluefield and 6:10 p.m. vs TOSH.

A reminder that there are fitness test make ups today at lunch for any Phys. Ed. students who missed.

There will be a mandatory meeting today in Room 153 for the triathlon group at lunch.

Tonight there is a spring black and white out dance  from 8 -10 p.m. $3 tickets will be on sale at lunch.

IRSA PEI has a Homework Club at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre today from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.   This club is for students in grades 7-12, who need help with subjects like Math, Physics, English, Social Studies and more.  Any questions email  maximusmacdonald@irsapei.ca or call at (902) 628-6009 Ext 221.

This is Family Violence Prevention Week on PEI, and this year’s theme is Supporting Intergenerational Resilience in Our Communities. Staff and students are wearing purple today to raise awareness, stand with survivors and commit to ending family violence.

A big congratulations is going out to Ruby Keller!  Ruby went to the Provincial Heritage Fair, won “le prix de l’excellence” and has been nominated by the province as one of four projects to represent PEI at Canada’s History National Showcase. It is worth mentioning that she did all this in her second language. Great work, Ruby!

Potential graduates - who are cadets, or with any family member who is, or was, a veteran (or in the RCMP), should be aware of the Legion Bursary due on Friday.  This requires an official transcript, so order in advance.

Also due on Friday is the Arsenault Bros. Scholarship, Centennial Auto Group Bursary and the PEI Potatoes Future Leaders Bursary.

Attention Graduates:

The deadline for completing your nomination form to be considered for Graduation Awards has been extended to Monday, May 18th.  You can find it in the classroom section of the Grad Classroom. Some awards that the selection committee will be considering are specific to area of post-secondary study. We can’t consider you for nomination if we don’t know what your plans are.  It’s worth your time to put your name forward. And grads, now’s the time to be diligently checking the grad classroom and your emails. Lots happening!

Robotics Club meeting Friday.

Want to make sports more accessible for children?  This Saturday, students in the Leadership Class are hosting a charity run for the Jump Start Program beginning at 12 noon in the student parking lot.  The route is 5K around the school and Victoria Park.  The first 35 participants, who finish, will get a free chocolate milk.  Follow @stepsforsportscghs on Instagram for the sign-up sheet and consent form.  Look forward to seeing you there!

Students interested in taking a Summer School course (held at Charlottetown Rural) can now find the registration form on the Colonel Gray website, with a deadline of May 22nd.
